Mark Rippetoe's webpage of books, videos, discussions, humor, and other useful and fun stuff. Make sure you READ THE BOOKS - and the stickies - before you post on his discussion board. Really! Don't be that guy (girl) asking the question that was just answered in a previous thread or that was covered in excruciating detail in one of the books. A great source of some personal training advice and he does it for free! For best results buy the books and read them, attend one of the Starting Strength seminars, then follow up with periodic Starting Strength training camps. (not an official banner) |

Greg and Lauren Glassman's revolution in fitness for the masses. Yeah, there are detractors but the template and approach to training in their free sample issues of the CrossFit Journal are pretty sound. They have made a bigger impact on how people exercise than the ACSM and NSCA combined. The September 1, 2002 issue of the CrossFit
Journal published the shopping list for equipping a CrossFit gym. The last
item on the list is "Inspirational Art Work" .... so go back to the Killustrated
store pages.

Justin Lascek's on-line training community. Good lifting and CrossFit coach with good ideas and nicely done day-long training workshops. Worked with Rippetoe at WFAC training folks in the Starting Strength method and with Dr. Kilgore at MSU on some CrossFit related research. |

Clay Worthington, formerly a mover and shaker in the USA Cycling national coaching program is now at the Western Australia Institute for Sport. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet AND he thorougly knows his stuff. Excellent coach with an appreciation of science and who has both feet firmly planted in successful real-world training. |

Dave Draper was probably my favorite iron sport icon growing up ... well right after Rigert. His beach movies and a brief role in the Beverly Hillbillies made up some of my earliest exposure to barbells. I was estatic when he let Mark and I use one of his classic photos in the very first edition of Starting Strength. He and Laree have been quite supportive of many of the movers and shakers in the evolving weight training marketplace over the past decade or so. Most recently they have included one of my former graduate students, Glenn Pendlay, in their annual seminar series. |
